A Deep Dive into Empathy FILLING
Limited Capacity filling up

Active listening, more specifically the articulation of empathy, is one of the most underutilized but critically important skills in the conflict resolver's toolkit. The more nuanced and elegant the conflict resolver is in deploying the skill of active listening, the more powerful the impact. The more powerful the impact of the intervention, the more likely the resolution! This presentation examines current research in the field of psychology on active listening, affect labeling, empathy, and the neural story net. We will then use drills to add a layer of sophistication and finesse to these fundamental skills in the special education context. Come prepared to roll up your sleeves and learn in a supportive drill-based environment.
